Your Character Packet
Each guest receives a unique character packet containing

1. Instructions on how the mystery party works
2. Introductory information unique to the specific scenario
3. A guest list containing names and basic information about all characters at the party
4. A unique character dossier detailing basic information about your character as well as “confidential information” which may be dastardly deeds your character has committed in the past, scandalous rumors you’ve heard about other characters or secret tasks you should accomplish at the party
5. You’ll also get a costume suggestion

Getting into Character
You do not need to be an award-winning actor to pull this off!

1. Get a costume that suits your character. You can use the suggestion in your character packet or find one that you like from some old clothes, a secondhand store, or a local costume shop.
2. Read through your character dossier so you have a good understanding of who the character is. You don't need to memorize a thing, and you can always refer to your packet at the party. The better you know the basics about your background, the easier you’ll find it to interact naturally with the other characters.
3. Remember to act on your "confidential information". If you have knowledge about other characters, you should use it! Blackmail, gossip, spread rumors…or start investigating suspicious looking individuals.

Sleuthing Tips and Other Players
Interacting with other characters is not only fun but necessary for investigating the murder. Each guest can be as outgoing or quiet as he or she likes, but you may be surprised at how much a mystery party creates an environment where complete strangers naturally want to talk to each other.

• Be observant
• Use your confidential information as a starting point to uncover more secrets
• Listen to other characters
• Ask questions (as a rule, participants can evade answering questions)
